This scheme is the first of the Housing Market Renewal Initiative (HMRI) in West Hull and provides 106 new dwellings of mixed size and tenure in an area that had become baron and run down.
Jeremy Poulter acted as project architect whilst working at PRP Architects Ltd.
The site layout has it its heart an attractive urban square which provides a focal point for the new community and reintroduces a traditional pattern of pedestrian friendly streets to the area
The architecture takes its cue from the Victorian and Edwardian terraces of the area with its use of brick, slate roofs, gables and bay windows but has a modern expression in terms of the punched window opeings and crisp white rendered bay windows which are a feature of all the properties.
